LEGAL

What the law actually requires.

You do not need a medical card to buy from Cannalab47 in any of the 15 states we are licensed in — all are adult-use markets. You need a government-issued photo ID showing you are 21 or over. Cannabis cannot cross a state line, so you must buy inside your own state.

Cannalab47 holds a separate licence in every state it operates in, and each premises serves only its own state. This page covers what is the same everywhere we trade, then what you have to check locally. It is general information rather than legal advice, and cannabis law changes faster than most pages about it get updated — the date at the bottom is there so you can judge how much to trust this one.

Do I need a medical card?

Not to buy from us. Every state Cannalab47 is licensed in is an adult-use market, which means anybody 21 or over with a valid government-issued photo ID can buy. Medical programmes run alongside adult-use in most of these states and can carry different purchase limits, different tax treatment and a lower minimum age; if you hold a card, check your own programme rather than assuming this page covers you.

What ID is accepted?

A government-issued photo ID showing a date of birth 21 years ago or more: a driving licence, a state ID card, a passport or a military ID. The name has to match the order. We check it at handover and we do not photograph, scan or store it.

Why can you not ship across a state line?

Because cannabis remains a Schedule I controlled substance under United States federal law, and interstate commerce is federal jurisdiction. That is true even between two states that have both legalised it. Any retailer offering to ship you cannabis from another state is either unlicensed or breaking federal law, and in both cases the package is the one that gets seized. We dispatch every order from the licensed premises inside the customer’s own state.

Possession and single-purchase limits are set by statute in each state and change by rule-making, so we do not restate them here where they could go stale between updates. Check the current figure with the regulator named above before you rely on it. This page is general information, not legal advice.

Where can I legally consume it?

Almost never in public. Every state we operate in restricts consumption to private property, and many restrict it further where a landlord, a lease or a local ordinance says so. Consuming in a vehicle — moving or parked, driver or passenger — is an offence in every one of them. Driving under the influence of cannabis is a serious criminal offence everywhere in the United States.

Can I fly with it?

No. Airports and airspace are federal jurisdiction, so cannabis bought entirely legally in one state becomes a federal matter the moment you carry it into an airport, regardless of where you are flying. Do not put it in checked luggage, hand luggage or a pocket. If you have some left at the end of a trip, leave it behind.

Questions people actually ask

Do I need a medical card to buy cannabis?

Not in any of the 15 states Cannalab47 is licensed in — all are adult-use markets, so a government-issued photo ID showing you are 21 or over is enough. Medical programmes exist alongside adult-use in most of them, with their own limits and tax treatment.

What ID do I need to buy cannabis?

A government-issued photo ID proving you are 21 or over: driving licence, state ID card, passport or military ID. The name must match the name on the order. We check it at handover, and we do not photograph, scan or keep a copy of it.

Can cannabis be shipped between states?

No. Cannabis is federally illegal and interstate commerce is federal jurisdiction, so it cannot lawfully cross a state line even between two legal states. Every Cannalab47 order is dispatched from the licensed premises inside the customer’s own state.

Can I fly with cannabis?

No. Airports and airspace are federal jurisdiction, so cannabis bought legally in one state becomes a federal matter as soon as you enter an airport with it, wherever you are flying. Do not pack it in checked or hand luggage. Leave it behind instead.

Is it legal to consume cannabis in public?

Almost nowhere. Every state we operate in restricts consumption to private property, and many restrict it further by lease or local ordinance. Consuming in a vehicle is an offence in all of them, and driving under the influence is a serious criminal offence everywhere in the United States.
