Cannalab47 began with a stubborn question: why does nobody publish what is actually in the jar?
The question
In 2019 a jar of flower could tell you almost nothing. A strain name somebody made up, a THC percentage nobody had verified, and a shrug. The information that would actually help you choose — the terpenes, the cure, whether it had been screened for the things you would not want to inhale — was either untested or untold.
We started growing in one room to answer that question for ourselves. One batch at a time, tested at our own expense, every result printed and posted whether it flattered us or not.
The standard
Forty-seven separate analyses per batch: eleven cannabinoids, twenty-one terpenes, sixty-six pesticides, four heavy metals, residual solvents, microbials, mycotoxins, moisture and water activity. Run by an independent laboratory, not by us.
We publish the whole panel. Not a summary, not the flattering half — the panel. A batch that fails does not quietly become somebody else's problem; it does not leave the room.
What we will not claim
Plenty of this industry sells certainty it does not have. We would rather be useful than impressive, so here is what we deliberately do not say:
- We do not make medical claims. Cannabis is not a treatment we are qualified to prescribe, and no product on this site is offered as one. If you are managing a condition, talk to a clinician who knows your history.
- We do not promise an effect. Our experience tags — relax, sleep, focus, recover — are browsing preferences derived from lineage and aroma, not predictions. Two people can take the same batch and have different evenings.
- We do not print a potency we cannot stand behind. Where a supplier's figure is implausible for the format it is on, the listing reads "Not reported" rather than repeating it.
- We do not show ratings we have not collected. Where a product carries no verified rating, the card shows its label data instead of a number somebody invented.
How we are set up
Cannalab47 is licensed separately in California, Colorado, Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, Massachusetts, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, New Mexico, Connecticut, Maryland, Missouri, Maine and Minnesota. Each state has its own premises, its own inventory and its own compliance filings, because cannabis cannot lawfully cross a state line. Our flagship is in Santa Monica, California; the others are listed on the locations page.
Who we sell to
Adults 21 and older, with ID checked at handover. That is the whole of it. We would rather lose a sale than take one we should not have.
